What we do

Small in size. Big in heart. Growing one child at a time.

Acts of Kindness is still a small organisation. We do not have a large centre or extensive formal programmes. What we do have is a growing group of children, families and people who care — and a clear role.

To help children and families find the support, opportunities and connections that make a difference.

AOK Tutor Centre

Our small Tutor Centre provides individualised educational support in a nurturing environment. A small group of children learn together while receiving support tailored to their strengths, needs and learning styles.

Learning goes beyond academics. We also focus on:

  • Cognitive development
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Coordination and movement
  • Creativity
  • Social interaction
  • Confidence and independence
  • Learning through play and practical experience

Our goal is not simply to help children keep up. It is to help them discover how they learn best and to experience the confidence that comes from progress.

Supporting children & families beyond the centre

Not every child we support attends the Tutor Centre. Some families need help finding the right professional, an assessment, educational guidance, therapy or access to a meaningful activity. Sometimes the greatest need is simply someone who understands the journey and can help identify the next step.

We support families on a needs basis wherever we can.

Connecting the right people

We do not need to be experts in everything. We need to know the people who can help.

We build relationships between families and the professionals, organisations, businesses and individuals who can contribute knowledge, skills, time or resources. Our role is often as simple — and as important — as connecting those dots.

The people make the difference.

Are you one of those people?

Therapists, teachers, medical professionals, coaches, business owners and volunteers all have a place in the Village.

Creating opportunities

Children with additional needs deserve more than therapy and education. They deserve opportunities to participate: to dance, play, swim, perform, ride, create, compete, make friends and simply experience being a child.

We actively look for opportunities that help children discover strengths, build confidence and experience belonging.
